| The present image of the library was created by
it's Director A.Polyakov (1882-1923). A.Polyakov was one of the favourite
pupil of the well-known Russian bibliographer N.Lisovsky, and the author
of some important works on the bibliography of Russian Theatre.
He was the Director of the library from 1918 and he has managed to receive
the 'Censorship in Drama' collection. The stock of plays increased in five
times and was supplemented with plays in all languages of people of Russian
Empire from 1864 till 1917.
