Prince A.Lobanov-Rostovsky (1788-1866) presented his private book collection to the Theatrical library. This collection of French plays of XVI-XIXth centuries is one of the largest in the world. It includes the first editions of P.Cornielle, J.Racine, J.-B.Moliere, the unique albums of water-colours: "Dessins de plusieurs Ballet - Dansees par le Roy", with sketches by French artists from the end of the XVIth till the middle of the XVIIth centuries, and "Habit et costumes pour l'execution des Ballet de M-r Noverre, dessinees par M-r Boquet, dessinateur du Roy".
