Theatrical Library of Saint-Petersburg

The library began to organized much earlier owing to efforts of F.Volkov. In 1755 F.Volkov bought 6 printed tragedies and other books and this fact was marked in the special list of expenses of Schlyakhetnyi Corpus. In his letter F.Volkov wrote, that for buying some theatrical books he had to pawn his own and his brother clothes.
